Higher Glyphics For his second CD, "Higher Glyphics", guitarist Chris Dunnett takes the journey he began with "El Samuraichi a bit further by adding Reggae, Calypso, choirs and Arabian voices to the mix. While "El Samuraichi" has Chris Dunnett's showstopping rendition of "Maleguena", "Higher Glyphics" marks Chris' return to the electric guitar with a fiery solo on the track "Strumz & Pharaoh." While still showcasing his guitar abilities, "Higher Glyphics" places the emphasis more in melody and composition while maintaining a very danceable feel throughout the CD.

The track listing is as follows: I have always wondered, particularly with instrumentals, how people came up with the titles and inspiration for them. For those who are interested, I have decided to give some insight as to the origins of the songs on "Higher Glyphics." Chris
* "Lotta Colada" --- takes the listener to the Islands. A Calypso-esque song complete with Steel Drums. * "Higher Glyphics" --- The title track that starts the Journey of ancient Egypt. * "Cartouche" --- Continues the Egyptian travel with a ballad that centers around a necklace lost in time and a love lost as well. * "The Alchemist" --- As we depart from Egypt, we are taken back to the Islands with a Reggae beat and flute pipes that sail off into the distance. * "The Cairo Boogie" --- One can not travel without taking home a souvenir. The Cairo Boogie is an almost "swing meets King (Tut)" piece that reminds us of our travel to Egypt. * "Smoov Bossa" --- A Chris Dunnett original Bossa Nova piece with haunting melodies that are very catchy and a fretless bass showcase as well. * "Strumz & Pharaoh" --- This song takes the listener on a cross journey between Egypt and Arabia complete with Arabian Mawal voices and gypsy-like guitar and violin runs. * "BW2" --- Originally written as a duet, Chris performs it in such a way that it maintains the illusion of a duet with a little techno thrown in to keep the dancing going. * "Pyramid" --- This is a three-part trilogy. The first part, Earth, is the organic creation, the second section, Man, is the commercialized variation on the melody with elements of "Pop" brought in by Piano & Strings. The final movement, Heaven, is very Angelic with choirs & church bells that pay tribute to the Creator. "Higher Glyphics" was mastered by Trevor Sadler who masters all Narada Records releases, and has worked with Kathy Mattea, Live, Crash Test Dummies, Nine Inch Nails and Triumph.
